Can I receive a monthly payment for taking care of someone at home?
Possibly. A qualified live-in caregiver may receive a monthly payment through Massachusetts Adult Foster Care when the person receiving care, the caregiver, and their living arrangement meet MassHealth requirements.
Approved Mass Care Link caregivers may receive up to $1,520 per month, based on need and MassHealth approval. Applying does not guarantee eligibility or payment. Services and caregiver payment begin only after the required approvals and placement steps are complete.
The person receiving care must have qualifying MassHealth coverage and need daily assistance with personal care. The caregiver must live in the same home and complete the required screening and approval process. A spouse or court-appointed legal guardian cannot be the paid caregiver. A parent cannot be paid through this program to care for a child under age 18.
