What are the types of Home care?

Updated on: August 19th, 2019 • Resource: Home Health Care

The home care is one of the widely used healthcare services in most of the countries around the world. This service is better than other adult care services because, in the home care, a person receives care at his/her own house rather than shifting to a residential place where the care service operates. Before you enroll in a home care program, make sure that you understand the different types of home care service because it will give you the idea that which type is the best for you. In this guide let us discuss three types of home care service which are being widely used by the people.

Types

Before getting on with the types, you should make sure that your home care service provider is offering such types because not all of them offer different types and come up with a single package. The most significant benefit of having different home care packages is that you can choose which package suits your needs. Although there could be different packages/types but all of them will have a standard mission, and that is to provide the best possible care to the enrollee.

The first type of the home care is the “personal care and companionship”. This is the simplest type and costs way less than others because it includes the common services such as dressing and bathing of the enrollee and to carry out everyday tasks. This type of the home care is also called non-medical care because it does not include any such task.

If you are looking more for a medical based plan, then you go with the home care plan which is known as “Private duty nursing care” because this type of home care offers you private home-based nursing who can look after your medical needs and can make sure that the prescribed medications are being taken on schedule. This plan works very well for the people who suffer from a serious illness. It is also known as the catastrophic care.

On the other hand, if your illness is not so much serious, then you can opt for the short-termed home care, which is also called Medicare-certified home health care. This plan is also used often because many people prefer to avoid their stay in the hospitals if they have a common illness which can be cured in a short span.

Therefore, such plans of the home care service make it easy for the people to decide what they need. https://masscarelink.org/ppc/adult-foster-care-2/
