What happens once someone is approved for adult foster care services?

After MassHealth authorization and the provider’s final enrollment steps are completed, Mass Care Link coordinates placement and onboarding with the member and caregiver.

The process may include reviewing and signing required documents, confirming the plan of care, completing caregiver training, explaining payment and documentation responsibilities, and scheduling ongoing nursing and care-management visits. Services and caregiver payment begin only after all required approvals and placement steps are complete.
