Can I get paid to take care of a family member?

Possibly. A qualified adult may be paid to care for an eligible family member through Massachusetts Adult Foster Care when the member, caregiver, and living arrangement satisfy all applicable requirements.

The caregiver cannot be the member’s spouse or court-appointed legal guardian. A parent cannot be the paid caregiver for a child under age 18, but may potentially qualify when caring for an adult child age 18 or older. The caregiver and member must live together.
