Cherif Diakite

As a Compliance Officer at Mass Care Link, Cherif helps members and caregivers through the intake process, conducts assessments, assists with placements and ensures members’ care meets MassHealth program guidelines.

Cherif notes the diversity of the team at Mass Care Link, and credits their “different backgrounds” with their ability to connect with the community of members and caregivers. “We’re more exposed to different cultures, so we have a better understanding of how to approach them and how to communicate,” he explains.

Originally from the Republic of Mali, Cherif received a degree in accounting at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. When he joined Mass Care Link in 2013, his role included bookkeeping, but these days he deals with members and caregivers directly. The shift suits Cherif, who says his favorite responsibilities involve “interacting with people.” Enjoying the opportunity to “help a lot of different members and caregivers,” Cherif informs members across the South Coast about their adult foster care benefits and educates caregivers on home care techniques and best practices.

Cherif considers the Mass Care Link Team “like a family to me now,” and appreciates their start-up mentality that allows issues to be resolved quickly through direct action.
