Funded by MassHealth, Adult Foster Care allows a family member or friend to provide 24-hour care for qualified members in their own homes. Caregivers receive a tax-free payment for their services, to help with the burden of care. We’re here to help.
What is adult foster care?
Adult home care or adult foster care offers an alternative to residential care for those who are unable to live on their own and require supervision or physical help with bathing, hygiene, walking, transferring, eating, or dressing. So the people who need care can receive it in their own homes from their loved ones and friends.

Requirements for Those in need of care:
Are you unable to live alone due to a medical or mental condition?
Is there a friend or family member who can take care of you?
Do you have a medical or mental condition that prevents you from living alone?
Do you have MassHealth?
Do you live with your caregiver or are you willing to move in with your caregiver? (Caregiver cannot be your spouse or legal guardian.)
Do you require supervision or physical assistance with at least one of the following daily activities: walking bathing, dressing, toileting or getting up from or down to a chair, couch, bed, toilet or bath?
